National Means Cum Merit Scholarship scheme is proposed by the department of Electronics and Information Technology of Central government. In this year it is proposed to provide scholarship to 1 Lakh students. This MCM Scholarship will be provided for continuing their education of class VIII to Class XII. The students of government school or govt-aided school are eligible for Means Cum Merit Scholarship. It is a different scholarship from Swami Vivekananda Means Cum Merit Scholarship. Whether it is a Central sector scholarship, SVMCM is a state scholarshp. The main aim of the scholarship is to reduce the no of dropouts.

NMMS ELIGIBILITY
Educational Qualification:
- Class VIII Pass with 55% Marks (For SC/ST/OBC 50% Marks)
Others Qualification:
- The family income should not exceed Rs. 150,000 annually.
- Active bank account No.
- If Aadhaar card is available, then bank account should be linked with Aadhaar no.
MEANS CUM MERIT SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTING SCHEME (ন্যাশনাল মিনস কাম মেরিট স্কলারশিপ)
The Amount will be provided as per the below Scheme –
- Rs. 6000/- per year or Rs. 500 per month
Scholarship have to be renewed upto class XII. Students have to keep the minimum 55% marks during renewal of the scholarship. But in class X, students have to get 60% (55% for SC/ST/OBC) marks to renew the scholarship.
NATIONAL MEANS CUM MERIT (NMCM) SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The application procedure for this scholarship is online. You have to apply from the government website – https://scholarships.gov.in
- Vist the official website – https://scholarships.gov.in
- Click on the link – “New user register here”. Put the basic details and register yourself by using your own Mob No and Email ID.
- A registration no with a password will be generated. Login again with this credentials.
- Fill all the form and upload scanned copy of Photo and Signature in .jpg/.jpeg format of file size maximum 20KB.
- Candidates have to take print out of the certificates and other documents to get attested by the HOI of School or College withe official stamp/seal.
- Now upload the certificate with the below mentioned documents to the portal.
- For pre-matric (IX and X): only two application can be submitted through one mobile.
- For post-matric (XI and XII): only one application can be submitted through one mobile.
Swami Vivekananda MCM Scholarship renewal
During renewal they have to first log in their account by putting application ID and Password and have to upload the scan copy of Marksheet of last passed exam. An certificate have to be signed from Headteacher/ Principal and upload it to the website.

- Certificate stamped or sealed by HOI.
- First page of Bank Passbook.
- Income Certificate of parent. (Mandatory).

NATIONAL MEANS CUM MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION PROCESS (ন্যাশনাল মিনস কাম মেরিট স্কলারশিপ)
Candidates will be selected by a Entrance Test. Exam will be held in 2 phrase –
- Mental Ability Test (MAT)
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
Students have to secure 40 % (32% for reserved category) marks in both thetwo exam.
Mental Ability Test (MAT) : analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures etc.
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) : science, social studies and mathematics as taught in classes VII and VIII
Both exam time is 90 minutes.
